We offer two sizes: 5.5 inches (4 oz) and 3.25 inches (1.6 oz).
How are the empanadas packaged?
They are individually packed and sold in bulk of 25 or 50 units. Retail boxes contain 6 empanadas for the 5.5-inch size and 12 empanadas for the 3.25-inch size, with 3 additional empanadas free in the small size box.
How are the empanadas preserved?
They are flash-frozen to maintain the homemade flavor and we do not add preservatives, colorants, or artificial flavors.
What is the shelf life of the empanadas?
After Baked, refrigerated shelf life is 7 days (4 days for shrimp and tuna).

Can the empanadas be baked in a microwave?
No, they cannot be baked in a microwave. They should be baked in a conventional or convection oven.
Note: While we recommend baking our empanadas for optimal taste and texture, if you need to reheat a baked empanada, we advise doing so in a regular oven for the best results. Reheating in the microwave is possible but may affect the overall quality.
What is the recommended baking time for the empanadas?
In a conventional oven, it takes 10-15 minutes. In a convection oven, it takes 5-7 minutes. It is very important to preheat the oven to 500°F (260°C) for better results, as this ensures optimal dough crispiness.
Are the empanadas healthy?
Yes, our empanadas are healthy as they do not contain any preservatives, artificial flavors, or colorants. Additionally, our savory empanadas meet the school district standards for healthy food options.
Do the empanadas need to be thawed before baking?
o, the empanadas do not need to be thawed. However, they are best baked from frozen without defrosting.
What type of ovens can be used to bake the empanadas?
Any type of oven can be used, including conventional and convection ovens.
Do you offer any other products besides empanadas?
Yes, we also sell pie shells in various sizes and flavors.
How hot are the empanadas when they come out of the oven?
Our empanadas can be quite hot when fresh from the oven, especially the sweet varieties. We recommend allowing them to cool for at least 5 minutes before serving to prevent burns.
How do I know when my empanadas are fully cooked?
Our empanadas are made with pre-cooked filling, so the key indicator for doneness is the color of the dough. Bake until the dough reaches a golden-brown color. Once the dough is golden brown, the empanadas are ready to serve. For best results, avoid overbaking to prevent a dark or burnt crust. If you prefer a crispier texture, you can bake the empanadas for an additional 1-2 minutes, allowing them to become slightly darker.
